Topic: Carry On Wayward Son vs Tom Sawyer Posted: November 26 2017 at 09:36 |
two songs with impecable production, detailed drums, well structured heavy progressive songs. Songs to headbang to and to play air guitar with.

Kansas. I can't stand the cheesy synth one-fingered by Geddy.

Kansas of course. Not that Tom Sawyer is not good, but COWS is quite a beautiful piece.

I won't vote for one over the other. I love both songs, both bands.

Tough choice as both are excellent songs ......hmm......went with Kansas....I like them a bit more than Rush overall.

Both classics - quite a good poll, this one! Tom Sawyer has to shade it, as it has a higher air guitar, air drum, air bass factor! You can even do the synth bit with one figure whilst doing the washing up!

Wayward Son, such a great song for the masses to hear nice time signature changes and a different instrument than usual. Like Sawyer, but not quite as much.

I like Kansas, but I really don't like this particular song of theirs. Something too gleeful about it, like a Triumph song or something. It just makes me cringe. So, yeah, I voted for Tom Sawyer.

No vote here. Both songs are quite good but both bands have much better songs. If there is Jacob's Ladder in place of Tom Sawyer I'd vote for it without hesitation.

Two classics. I'll go with Tom Sawyer. More quirky and it's among my favourit Rush songs.
COWS is a great rock tune though. Classic riffs and wonderful changes.
