 Topic: Best New Live Album from a Classic Prog Band

November gave us a bunch of new releases. These three bear comparison, because they are all classic prog bands, none of them has the original vocalist, and each of these new live albums contains material which has not been played live in a long time, if ever.

this isn't really Yes and from what I heard on iTunes --I'll pass---it blods along and the vocals are just so irritating to a long time Yes fanatic like myself---so King Crimson---they have standards that other old prog bands don't seem to have.

King Crimson of course, with Kansas coming second. I don't really care much for the current Yes line-up.

Get Camel's Ichigo Ichie live DVD and I think you might want to rethink that last statement. Pete Jones has fitted in with the band amazingly well and has added a new dimension to their music. I can't wait for their tour next summer and have booked a VIP ticket at the Royal Albert Hall gig to meet the band. The new line up is as good as they've ever been.
Sadly though, I agree that Yes are an apology of the band they once were. King Crimson are just as unlistenable as ever, excellent musicians that they are. Kansas are quite a good band, but I haven't heard their new DVD so no vote.

thanks will check out Camel---I was actually just taking a frustrated bitchy slap at Yes. I mean Hackett has toured with an amazing band and playing amazing versions of classic Genesis songs---I think Howe would be better off doing the same at this point. Whats the sense of playing Yes live if it sounds third rate?

Yes today is just a ghost of years past, KC is as someone already pointed out "are just as un-listenable as ever, excellent musicians that they are" and Kansas was never my cup of tea, so the trophy goes to "Snow live" by the already classic SB.
