Hi Everyone,

This year, MetalMusicArchives has opened its best of 2017 voting to the public, so head on over to http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12820&FID=3&PR=3&title=mma-best-of-year-2017-voting-thread and vote for your favorite metal albums of 2017!  Your participation is highly recommended and here's to finding some great metal music from 2017.

Just a reminder that Metal Music Archives wants your participation in our year-end 2017 Best of Metal voting.  We are accepting lists until January 31st so click on over to our website with the link from my previous post and let us know your favorite metal albums of 2017.

Thank you,

Scott

I briefly considered it, but I only heard 6 or 7 new metal albums that really seemed worthy of any awards. Seems a paltry number just to "prog up" the MMA vote.

Just like here on PA, I am sure there are folks voting for 5 or 10 albums because they are the only ones that they have heard.

Any how, there is one more week to vote, so if you are considering providing a list hop to it!

Is 31st a hard deadline? I'm still catching up last year's albums.

It looks like they are closing the voting some time on February 1st.  I've not seen any indication that they will extend the voting, but I imagine if the admins received a few requests they might consider it.

The clock is ticking down.  If you are thinking of submitting a list you have until 9 AM GMT tomorrow to submit it.

Mastodon won a Grammy...can they win MMA album of the year?

Nice to see Pryapisme, Ex Eye and Diablo Swing Orchestra featuring, though I haven't heard the DSO album.
Soldato of the Pan Head Mafia. We'll make you an offer you can't listen to.

Indeed though overall Progressive Metal was only the third most recurring genre, with 12 releases. Black Metal had 13 and Death Metal had 17.
