Neo-Prog is usually not my style, however, this album is pretty good (The Tale Of The Golden King). Does anyone know any other good neo-prog ALBUMS that sound similar to this?Star

First time I've heard the Psychedelic Ensemble. From what I've heard of the album, I think they are more symphonic prog rather than neo-prog and very much a mixture of influences old and new. Yes, Gryphon and ELP from the 70s definitely figure in the music and I even thought there were Gentle Giant influences in the vocals too. Can't think of a neo-prog band that capture that almost retro-style, with keyboards and guitar equally upfront. I hear a touch of Arena, Pendragon, Jadis, DeeExpus and Galahad in there, with even a bit of Touchstone at times. However, I know none of these on their own would replicate this sound. Good luck searching, though!

Thought Neo was an 80s generative after the 70s music died,  I'm  confused with all these genres. Confused

The Watch is classified as Neo Prog and blends modern and vintage in a similar way. Check out Tracks from the Alps.

An interesting album and band....The Psychedelic Ensemble.....it often has a pastoral or mellow feel in between the more dynamic parts...I would try Big Big Train and White Willow.....

Something similar I would recommend:
Chris: Days of the summer gone (http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4868)
By the same multi instrumentist: The Black Codex Part 1-52 (you will find the 4 double CDs at http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2634)
