Well said. I too feel Phil added a certain "something" to the first four Gentle Giant records. Black Cat is another favorite of mine. His vocals in the break of River are amazing.

I've heard just about every live version they've done, and I agree it's amazing.
One songs I've NEVER heard GG perform live is my all-time personal favorite "In a Glass House". Does it exist anywhere?

Out of the album tracks, I'd have to choose Knots - very few rock bands have the balls or the chops to do a cappela sections like that.
