I think that putting lyrics on Albinoni’s adagio is the worst thing ever done by Renaissance. My personal opinion, of course.
Curiosity killed a cat, Schroedinger only half.

I am one of the very few people who voted (or will vote) for Cold is Being...
Allbinonni's Adagio in G Minor is a fantastic piece of work, not to mention the heavenly voice of Annie Haslam...
If anybody wants please visit: http://www.gfreedomathina.blogspot.com/

This is my Blog mostly about Rock music, but also a few other things as well.

You are most welcome!

Thank you. :)

I'm with the majority here, but Black Flame is a close second.

Agree. Except I don't find the lyrics to Cold is Being depressing. I would have found uplifting lyrics set to a funeral tune depressing though. Mother Russia is the grandest of them all - so I voted for it.

Went for "Things I Don't Understand."
Came to this album rather late, but it's now a favourite.
The damage that we do is just so powerfully strong we call it love

The damage that we do just goes on and on and on but not long enough.

Mother Russia is a masterpiece, but in the live version on Carnegie Hall

^I guess they couldn´t have put it very joyful lyrics. You know it´s quite common piece in the funerals.

^^^ Yup. Would add Ashes Are Burning to that list. All three driven in equal parts by Annie and Tout and no orchestra. Love Tout's variations on that performance of Things I Don't Understand.

Agreed! The song that got my vote and, next to Trip to the Fair, the song I most associate with Annie and gang.

Speaking of Running Hard, here's a great, great performance of the song.  Played quite a bit faster than the studio cut seemingly.  Annie's C6 in the vocalise makes the jaw drop.

There’s so much beauty in melancholia, as Black Flame displays. Sad, yet exquisitely beautiful.
Love all the albums, including Time Line !

The only albums I've heard from this band are this and Ashes are Burning(love Carpet of the Sun). The song that I remember most from this one is Things I Don't Understand, so I voted for it. Like her voice a lot, I should start getting back into them.
