they easily dissapointed you?they were barely one of the best performance you've seen...glittering 5 star prog-attempt of evolving neo-music???narrate those unique or blasting moments you've assisted to!!!i've recently been to jon anderson's performance in bucharest,and honestly,changed my perception about music...:)

The only prog act i've witnessed in person was IQ on the Dark Matter tour last November. It was truly stunning, a brilliant show. I believe they did something like 3 encores, although the stalls where i had some cds put back for me closed during those encores, so i was quite annoyed...But i can't hold that against them.
Also saw Pineapple Thief immediately before IQ, they were good, but not what i would consider entrancing.

I've been to 2 Primus shows, and 1 Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains show, both prog.  Both amazing.

Let me see, two King crimson conserts on TPTB tour Bergen and Oslo. Yes conserts, magnification tour in oslo,  and their sweden rock consert in 2003. One consert with the grand mothers, Anekdoten and Circles End in Bergen 2004. Gong in Stavanger in 2001, Fish in the same city in 2002. Roger Waters, In the flesh tour 2002. Jethro Tull, sweden rock 2003, Kansas, Dream Theatre, Styx swedenrock 2005. Also conserts with other artists like Deep Purple, 3 times Nightwish, 3 times Opeth, Sigur Ros, Jaga Jazzist, Muse, Anathema. But the most insanely impressive conserts I have been to must be these two fusion related conserts, Scofield, De`onete(this MUSTbe spelled wrong) Golding, celebrating Tony Williams, and the abselutly magnificant norwegian "speed balkan boogie" band Farmers Market.

The following months Im also seeing Arena, and the Zappa plays zappa show in Oslo. I love going to conserts and getting drunk after the show. Prog on!

Mr. Zero, I envy you ridiculously, how were the Grand Mothers and Jaga Jazzist shows?

I went to Evergrey last year ( freaking awesome ), this year I've seen Enchant  ( really great live  ) . I'm going to Progpower 2005 with the headliner Pain of Salvation!  After that I'm going to see Dream Theater!

well I saw Ian Anderson...was Ok, funny guy

but the best prog concert I went is to a argentinian band colled Pez, which are not in this site. it was in a little theater, but that I think was part of the "magic", the sound, the guitar, the 2 keyboards (one jazzlike the other electronic)...it was absolutly mindblowing!

Maybe Im mistaken, because I did not go to that many prog concerts, but they sound or at least feel better in smaller places

Dream Theater in Summer 2000.  (They have played in Hungary four times so far, but for me once was enough, I'm not a huge fanboy)

Psychotic Waltz in '97. That was incredible! This was their last tour and the first which reached my country. 2 and a half hour full of magic, and played a surprising coversong from Rainbow: Stargazer! I also have a bootleg video from the whole gig, unfortunately the quality is not so good and it is still on VHS.

Rush - I had to go to Prague for the Canadian Gods

Voivod - in '99, they opened for Neurosis (the first two opening act were Gallopping Coroners (VHK) and Today Is The Day (with Brann Dailor on the drums who is now in Mastodon), so the set was short, no more than 45-50 mins.

Ooops, I forgot to mention Fates Warning, it was short but impressive and very enjoyable gig in February this year.

Jaga Jazzist was realy awsome, i can imagine its the closest thing to wath soft machine was around 3rd you can possably eksperience live today. As for the Grand Mothers, I love the music of Zappa, hearing it live makes me apreciate it even more. And at that consert I got the oppertunety to meet Napoleon Murphy Brock.

I forgot to mention that Ive also seen Trettioåriga Kriget, Ritual and two times Hawkwind

I saw Yes during their 35th Anniversary Tour in Seattle...it was a pretty good show...they played "Turn of the Century" for the first time in years.

I haven't been to many prog concerts but I've seen:
Pink Floyd in '94 - an amazing show.
Hawkwind in '95 - didn't really like the venues, and I found the audience at the Toronto show to be quite boring, except for a few.
Jethro Tull in 2000 - a nice intimate show.

I saw Opeth and Porcupine Tree in 2003 when Damnation first came out.
the live energy for the Damnation material made hearing the whole album
performed (+ face of melinda, To Bid You Farewell and a Deep Purple
cover) worthwhile. And Porcupine Tree sounds way, way better live than in
studio, IMO.

Yes during their symphonic tour at Hammersmith Appollo (not sure of the date).They were on stage for nearly 3 hours without a break.Great concert..easily the best I've been to (and also the most expensive at £40 a ticket!)

IQ on their Subterannea tour at The Astoria was also memorable.Great encore of The Last Human Gateway

I don't get to go to gigs that often for a variety of reasons, but when I heard that Hatfield and the North had reformed... well, it was an opportunity that I just couldn't resist. And was it a good show? By buggery it was!! I can't wait for the new album.
