But Cristi did vote after that. I said that I'm happy for people to vote even if they only know one of these (or part of these). That sad, if you feel uncomfortable voting without knowing much on the list, that's fine. I'm more interested in what people have to say about anything they like or are interested in on the list than in how they vote anyway. I don't even pay attention to poll results generally, but I do read and think about everyone's posts (at least in topics that I create). Prog polls isn't really the place for the deepest thinking or most absorbing discussions generally, mind you.

I just hope when I make polls that someone will like something or maybe discover something because of them. Or maybe I just do it because I have so few friends and I'm desperate to connect with people.

EDIT: By the way, I guess your signature is Monty Python inspired. Nice.

I voted for Univers Zero. And then I saw National Health's debut there...

Oops.

Vote for both, I enabled multiple-votes for this poll thinking that it may be too hard for some people to choose.

I would also have voted for Kew Rhone, even over the Univers Zero.  I saw Blegvad & Greaves, along with Fred Frith, preform it at the Zu Club (Giorgio Gomelsky's garage in lower Manhattan) in 1978.

Since I can vote multiple times, I'm going to go nuts with it:

Art Zoyd (I prefer this version to the rerecorded version a bit later)
Finnforest (although being I have the 2 on 1 CD I can't really tell the albums apart)
Islands
NH
PDP
Univers Zero
Vortex
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Amazing list!

Voted Cos, though could've gone with many others like Venusian Summer or Picchio dal Pozzo just as easily.

Good to see another fan.

Yeah, I do regret that oversight. I was using the top albums list as a guide to remember albums (but only covering ones in my collection that I really like) and somehow missed it. I've been a big fan of that album for many years. I did go off it a bit at one time some years ago due to overplay, but over the last couple of years it's had many plays again. Perhaps I'll do another poll of the period to cover other albums in my collection from these years that I really like. Yep, got some time to prepare that now. No doubt I'll still miss albums I really like from those years and second-guess my choices and have regrets. :)

Ugh, captachad (though if I hit backspace I don't lose what I wrote on my devices, unlike others, so I son't need to remember to copy my posts before trying to post).

EDIT: Well I made my other poll: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=113986

Mentioned that poll here in case you check back on this topic to follow the discussion, but then the other poll has fallen off the page and you don't see it. I'm still not completely happy with either poll (I'm sure there are lots of albums I like that are missing from both), but then I only really do them cause I enjoy the discussion that comes out of them and the sense of camaraderie with individuals who share similar tastes (outside of the internet I hardly know anyone who shares similar tastes to mine -- that's what's wonderful about such communities as PA to me).

I'd forgotten that there was more than one (have heard a bit of the NZ one before). The Swedish Ragnarok is the one that I was thinking about.

While both would be applicable so one could vote for either (I see that the NZ band's debut album is 1975 and the Swedish one is 1976), the one in my collection is the Swedish Ragnarok.

Actually not only might one vote for either Ragnarok, one might vote for both by clicking on the option twice (although in such a case I would ask that one specify this in a post).

I'm glad you brought that up not just because of how people vote, but because if people look up music on this list they might be looking intoa different band than the one I was thinking of (and potentially discussing a different with me or someone else where none is the wiser-- that's happened to me with another band and only much later did I realise that we were talking about different ones -- can't recall which band that was, now).

For those that do check out youtube to hear Ragnarok, here is a link to the Swedish one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmkUo9F3ZU4

And the New Zealand one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Jfj-af3eEw

Can't go wrong either way, imo, I like how both sound.

Glad you made this multiple choice as I was having a hard time picking. Archaia normally wouldn't get a vote ahead of National Heath, Art Zoyd or Univers Zero but in this case its getting a load of love from me.

Voted for
Archaia
Art Zoyd
Univers Zero
National Health
Vortex
