I see a bell curve. The strongest mediocre albums were during the middle period of the band.

Time and a Word (a Yes favourite of mine) followed by the self-titled. I never really got into post Fragile Yes other than the odd track.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

Tormato > Fly From Here > Time and a Word > Yes
Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

^ I cringe when I see people saying that Tormato is better than Time and a Word and the self titled album. Shocked

Sort of a toss up between Tormato and Time And A Word for me - I went with Tormato just because most of the issues on the album seem to be because of how it's produced... apparently some Dolby alignment issues causing it to sound thin according to the liner notes of Progeny. It's a bit silly sometimes too, but I think it's fun.

Self-titled and 90125 are good, but I'm not really into the others. Talk bored me to tears, The Ladder just gets cringy at times, Fly From Here is alright, although there a few tracks that just seem forgettable, and I don't really think it was really necessary for the title track to be a huge suite.

^ Yeah, I don't see how that title track needed to be a suite either... though for me it's actually not a suite. It just doesn't sound like one, nor was it created as one. The songs within it have no relationship between them (musically) at all, and they have their own beginning and end, so I just consider them as separate songs.

I can't really chose to be honest since I like them all for different reasons. 90125, Tormato and T&AW are all really strong albums and in the case of 90125 in particular under rated by most Yes fans.

It's Tormato, the last good Yes album before all the line-up changes.

damn captcha, I wrote quite a bit and did not save it...

I'll keep it short this time. What I do not understand is how is an album like Tormato ahead of the two early Yes albums, the ones with Peter Banks.

Time and a word is 4 stars IMHO!
The others are 2 or 3 stars.
