Topic: Live album shootout - redemption round 2 Posted: March 15 2018 at 05:42 |
OK, last redemption round, all albums that were in third place (or shared third place) of bands that don't have an album in the semis already. Only one winner can go through.

The three great guitarists, just ahead of PG and the Ozrics.

Meet The Flower Kings is sonic perfection.
One of the best sounding live albums I've ever heard.

Vital gets my vote. Ship of Fools is one of the great live show opening numbers and the whole album is filled with some of my fave PH vocals and Nic Potter's crazy distorted bass...

Well, it appears the winner is already decided so I'll go with Pongmasters.

I totally agree with you. Vital is a killer live album and Nic Potter's bass is a monster.

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

Some 5 hours later a different album is in the lead. (When you wrote this it was Peter Gabriel, now it's PT. I'm surprised as well.)

Friday Night in SF is full of awesome virtuoso playing, and both Vital and Gong Live are great. But Meet the Flower Kings has such a fantastic version of Garden of Dreams (plus the excellent Truth will Set you Free, etc).
I find Coma Divine to have excellent sound and great guitar solos, but its a bit samey-samey throughout

Thanks...I had a feeling you'd be the next vote for Vital
I absolutely love Nic, from the early VDGG albums to the fuzz bass on Vital to his amazing playing on the Room Temperature Live tour (which I was fortunate enough to see in San Francisco) he'll always be my 2nd fave bassist behind Wetton
