Don't know any of them; will wait for the result here to see what to try!
(I think I may have been at the concert captured on Real Time.)

All are priceless, though Real Time is spectacular. Merlin Atmos deserves a mention for Flight and Lighthouse Keepers.

Real Time have the best setlist but the best is yet to come performance-wise. Paradiso is fearsome but the sound of Hammill's keys ruins some segments for me, the high points of Merlin are unbeatable but it's the least interesting sound-wise.

Metropolis hits all the right buttons with me, in-your-face greatness!

I'll vote for Merlin Atmos even though the second disc needs to be mixed/mastered properly.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Ashamed to admit that while I have all the "2nd reformation" studio albums, I've never heard any of the live ones Embarrassed

Can anyone recommend any of these to a huge VDGG fan who loves Vital and Maida Vale?

They are all worth owning if you're a VdGG appreciator ;) and going chronologically should be a good idea.

If you're planning to get 'only' one ;) Real Time should make you happy.

Had the chance to see them, it was in 2009 I think, a time where live rock music was still affordable for the proletarians and the younger folks.

The afternoon before the concert we briefed one of our friends, who had never heard them, about the band and their singer. Halfway through the show, during Still Life, she turned around and looked at us (we proud vdgg veterans haha) and said: Okay guys, I know what you meant about that voice.

It was a terrific concert, one of the very best I've seen...and yes, that Still Life was truly mindblowing!
