Hello there! I live in sweden, I'm 16. The progg I have and enjoy is Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, Frank Zappa, Camel and King Krimson. Those are my favorrites i guess. But I also got Yes, Porcupine Tree, Caravan, Csar and perhaps some others, but i don't enjoy them as much as the ones i mentioned earlier. At least not from what I have heard so far.

I like other music to, Jazz, fusion-jazz, classical music, reagge, (some punk, but not much) and HipHop. Bands like: The mothern Jazz Quartet, Miles David's Bitches Brew, Weather Report, Bob Marley, Public Enemy and many others. So I can enjoy "simple" music to, but I love more complex stuff! I also like it if the music or the artist is leftsist.

Anyway I hope to meet some new people that enjoy the same music as I do, and I also need to educate me more in music! Because i have all to little music in my colecktion. Feel free to give tips on music you think I may enjoy from the bands I allready mentioned!

Hey, I just joined today. I'm 17 and I live in the U.S. I would highly suggest Genesis. They're my favorite band and I think you'll enjoy their complexity. My favorite song by Genesis is "Supper's Ready". Give that a listen, it'll blow your mind.
"Can't you feel our souls ignite?
Shedding ever-changing colors,in the darkness of the fading night..."

Glad you like it. Try listening to some of the earlier stuff from like 1975 and earlier. That's my favorite stuff. I would suggest listening to 2 albums in particular: 1) Foxtrot   2) The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.

Ooops, I almost forgot, the album "Seconds Out" came out in 1977. DEFINITELY don't count that one out, it's amazing.

If you like Hawkwind, try High Tide, Simon House's first band. If you
like challenging music, give at least a listen to Van der Graaf
Generator, Magma and Gentle Giant. And if you don't know them
already, Anekdoten are an excellent Swedish band in the vein of King
Crimson.
Welcome!
P.s. since you asked me in my newbie thread, I'm 39

Hey all. I'm new on here, just wanted to extend my greetings.  If anyone could let me know more about prog or update me on any bands or songs i need to hear it would be appreciated.  I was a big Floyd fan, and surfing around one day i found this site. I figured i could talk 2 poeple who enjoy my interests. Peace
