Skin Yard are one of the founding grunge bands whom early on was a whirle pool of various flavours and excperimentation. Whos members had privious band experiences in both hardcore and progressive band projects. Consists of Jack Endino, Daniel House, Ben McMillan and Matt Cameron on debute album and various other drummers afterwards.

the music on the debute and second album is worthy of evaluation as they consists of both the wierdness and explorational nature of progressive rock, while more on the metallic side. Influences can seem to both stem from Rush, Crimson, even some Yes like parts moth also more avant garde influences can be traced in the vocals and dissonance, singing can bare traces to Peter Hammill, Arthur Brown and Captain Beefheart, but also the edgyness of punk and alternative.

Can bee seen in the same vain as Mr Bungle, Voivod, and fellow Seattlers, Melvins,
the bass playing is in nature of Chris Squire and Geddy Lee,

plenty of tempo chages, time signature changes, and musical theme chages, not very long sons, yet very complex songs in short time-laps.

Are you sure this band has enough prog tendencies to be submitted here? I think their grunge-punk style overcome the prog aspect. If any members of both teams would want to pick up this one, we will.
Music is the refuge of souls ulcerated by happiness.
