Come on, Van der Graaf Generator has to be able to win something.

VDGG. I've never heard Asia and have no interest in doing so.

Alex........you trickster you.
;) The sad thing here is not whether or not VDGG wins....(if they don't then pathos will be their catchword from now on), but the fact that Asia had 4 superb musicians who decided to go for the hit song and radio appeal over writing the prog rock they were capable of doing.

I'm not ashamed to say I really enjoy Asia(mostly the original lineup version though). However, I don't think they are better than VDGG.

Excellent musicians.....and they could have easily done a UK thing if they had wanted to.....I think that Wetton had always wanted to be a 'rock star' (make some money...) with 'hits' ...from what I have read over the years. So that was the direction he wanted to move in.

Just had to do it in the heat of the moment. I think Van der Graaf Generator will be the sole survivor in this poll, but only time will tell. I wouldn't be serious about this in my wildest dreams. |

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

Technically it said pick your poison so I chose Asia. :P I was going to choose them anyway just to help balance things out a bit. Yeah, I do probably prefer VDGG but when you look at who was in Asia they look at least as good on paper.
