I never saw a poll on this album before so here it goes. If you hate the album don't vote. It's that simple. I was tempted to put a "don't like the album" option but it seems kind of pointless. Plus I'm sure I'll read your negative comments in here.

'It Can Happen' from what I remember. Lovely sitar work.

My introduction to Yes, like the shapes album was my introduction to Genesis. Leave It gets the vote.

Ok. I don't see it checked though so you must have forgotten to have actually voted for it.

Exactly! I think Rabin may have been playing a Coral Electric Sitar (basically a sitar-guitar hybrid), or perhaps a heavily processed electric guitar. Squire also tears it up on bass guitar. Here, to refresh your memory... |

Yeah, I don't think it's an actual sitar.

Can't vote here... the whole album delivers steadily high quality music and the flow is continuous as it is all one composition. Slight preferences vary depending on the mood.

The totally anti prog and pro pop option, Owner of a Lonely Heart must take it for me.

If it wasn't for that song and this album I probably would have thought of Yes as some weird funky band from the seventies who I would have little to no interest in exploring further. I'm sure a lot of people never dug further into the band and still think of them as an eighties pop band(ditto Genesis)and that's their loss. I'm not saying it's not a good album but it's mostly significant for me as a gateway album to their earlier more adventurous material.

I liked the album at the time but now find it uninteresting and dated---and not very prog.
without Trevor Horn production might not be very good---but I guess Leave it or Hearts

Very good album when I'm in that pristine 80's pop rock mood. I love about half of this but I went with Hold On.

90125 is my least favourite of all Yes albums, but it does have a few strong tracks on it. Hold On, Changes, and the instrumental Cinema are the best three for me; voted for Cinema. I can't stand the studio version of Owner of a Lonely Heart, live recordings are more acceptable. And Trevor Horn's ultra-streamlined production is downright awful on the whole album, so in general I think live recordings of songs from this album are better than the studio versions. 90125 is an album very much of its time, unlike the timeless 70's albums. Even the art work is extremely streamlined, and represents the music as well as Roger Dean's magical landscapes represented the classic 70's albums. It has always been Changes for me, but love whole album. Only little weak track is Hearts.

I actually really like this album. I know some of the hard core Yes puritans had
issues with it but I though it had some great stuff on it.
I was torn between It Can Happen & Hearts. Went with Hearts. |
