Beat me to it, man. I don't think it's a bad band name as such, but when I first heard it many years ago I thought `Man, I bet those guys are serious trippers and are a sh*t-hot psychedelic band'....in reality, you'd probably be pretty hard-pressed to find a more `straight' prog band! (and that's coming from a fan! ) |

I like quite a few of those listed, but I agree: the naming is very suspect. Another new Italian band with an odd name is Non Newtonian Band. Good music though.

Not to single out one country, but I have often found many Italian band names to be extremely silly: Cellar Noise Dropshard Dynamic Lights Empty Tremor Farther Paint Flashback Of Anger Hidden Lapse Hollow Haze Icycore Mindfar Pathosray Secret Sphere Solid Vision Soul Doubt Wandering Vagrant ... and a few others who's names escape me right now. add Abbey Road and Rubber Soul to that list :) Actually a lot of their shorter songs are quite creative, especially starting Help/Rubber Soul

I think the band name isn't very creative, but their music is considered very influential, But personally i'm not a big fan of them, most of their discography is 2 minute 60s pop songs, which isn't very musically innovative for my taste. The albums; magical mystery tour, the white album, and revolver are cool though.

Same here. It's sounds like a toddler came up with the name.

I once saw a band called "Trekkellian Skyway". They were excellent but only demo tapes exist...

I've always thought Yes was a great name; short, catchy and fits the music well - maybe not so great for Googling, but that wasn't really a concern at the time. It's a pity that short names like that are getting used up and bands have to start coming up with weirder, more complex names; I've never been a huge fan of longer band names. |

The Swans are not very nice. Schoolhouse/Bent Knee are 2 others that pop in the head.
