Two talented female artists from a Nordic country...  Both born in 1986... Two worthy albums...

But... Similar? Not exactly.

Which one?

Listen to Anna von Hausswolff - Dead Magic on YouTube (official channel)
Listen to Susanne Sundfør - Music for People in Trouble on YouTube (official channel)

I think AVHW (not Anderson, Vander, Howe, Wakeman...but how fun would that be?) will be in my top 20 this year. Been listening to it alot. Will have to revisit SS album.

Both are good, but Dead can dance does the job so much better for people in trouble. Into the Labyrinth is just perfect for that purpose...

Susanne's album is wonderful, as was the recent show at the Barbican so that gets my vote.

Dead Magic stands as my favourite album of 2018 to this day. I vote for Anna von Hausswolff.
It must be said, however, that some of Susanne Sundfør's songs are true gems.
