Sofa #1, my favorite Zappa instrumental...

He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

Great Zappa tracks, but nothing beats the complexity of G-spot Tornado, a song so difficult, that Frank had to play it on his synclavier because he thought it was humanly impossible to play as written. However, it was played live on the album "The Yellow Shark" by "Ensemble Modern" just to prove him wrong.

Eat That Question... also love Zoot Allures. G-Spot Tornado is very impressive but more showing off than emotion.

Ahhhhh.... those two Wazoo tracks are amazing. I also love Zoot Allures and the Gumbo Variations but Sofa gets my vote.

I don’t know G Spot Tornado
Hard to pick from the others, probably Blessed Relief, quite laid-back for Zappa, and of course on one of his most incredible albums. |

So far I'm the sole vote for Orange County Lumber Truck. Its live versions are fantastic as well. Eat That Question is a close second, though

Man all of these are classic Frank imo, but I went with Blessed Relief - just so smooth and satisfying.

I didn't until just now! Yeah, went with Blessed Relief; superb fusion and quite sentimental sounding for a Zappa piece. Inca Roads, The Ocean is the Ultimate Solution and this one are my personal FZ top three these days.

^ Oh how the world of Uncle Frank is so diverse. Bless Gail and the boys for keeping his music (and Spirit) very much ‘alive’.
