Joachim Kuhn is German jazz pianist born 1944 in Leipzig who works with countless jazz musicians.
His solo career is very extensive with various shades of jazz, with great emphasis on jazz rock/fusion. https://www.discogs.com/artist/299626-Joachim-K%C3%BChn Joachim Kühn – Cinemascope 1974 https://www.discogs.com/Joachim-K%C3%BChn-Cinemascope/release/1904131 full album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd03drWwLUM Arranged By, Conductor [String Orchestra] – Rolf Kühn Artwork [Cover Art] – Gabriele Laurenz Bass, Electric Bass – John Lee (3) Drums, Percussion – Gerry Brown Electric Guitar – Toto Blanke Engineer – Conny Plank Engineer [Assistant] – Hans* Photography By, Design – Bernhard Wetz Piano, Electric Piano, Alto Saxophone – Joachim Kühn Producer – Joachim Kühn, Rolf Kühn Joachim Kühn – Springfever 1976 https://www.discogs.com/Joachim-K%C3%BChn-Springfever/release/2173345 1 Lady Amber https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6EydB73T-E or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KckhAy3LhWs 2 Sunshine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U9VGjIKWyg 3 Two Whips https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVvR-dm4SCY 4,5 Spring Fever, Morning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRUSTH0KDg4 7 Equal Evil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlUWTis3wHA 8 California Woman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEvwJd8NR24 Bass – John Lee (3) Co-producer – Mal Luker Coordinator [Production Coordination] – Hans Joachim Krüger Design [Cover Design] – Franz Froeb Drums – Gerry Brown Engineer – Mal Luker Guitar – Philip Catherine Keyboards, Producer, Written-By, Arranged By – Joachim Kühn Photography By [Cover Photo] – Michael V. Sounds like pretty terrific JRF to me. Was suggested nine years ago, but didn't have samples in the suggestion back then (better resources now.) http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=57795
He has guested on various albums in PA CLICK and his Larry Coryell, Philip Catherine & Joachim Kuhn Live! album is included in Prog Arhives in Larry Coryell's discography: http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=15820 Here is his rateyourmusic page https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/joachim_kuhn Will mention it to the Jazz-Rock Fusion team. Thanks for the well-prepared suggestion. Edited by Logan - June 23 2018 at 09:18 |

Yes of course! Brilliant progressive jazz artist with at least a handful of releases that makes him relevant for inclusion.
btw: Smoke's selftitled 1970-album by this completely unknown american quintet: Kenny Washington -- vocal, percussion Fred Berry -- trumpet, piano, percussion Chris Cristy - bass Woody Webb -- vibes John Felder -- drums ...is really: Alphonse Mouzon, Joachim Kühn, Martial Solal, Jasper Van't Hof and George Gruntz. A genuine gem of progressive jazzfusion - although not all that much rock, from MPS (or rather its sub-label: Session). The only available track online is this short piece, but its very nice: |

I suggested him back in 2015 (in the team thread directly) and he was rejected. Sorry...

I found this "automatic generated" channel with albums by Joachim Kuhn on YouTube. (I'm afraid that it's too beautiful to be true, so at the future these channels will be YouTube Premium) I checked out his works closer - so I present mejority of his most fusion albums in one place (from this channel and more) The Mad Rockers 1969 Bloody Rockers 1969 Cinemascope 1974 Springfever 1976 Hip Elegy 1976 Sunshower 1978 Nightline New York 1981 Let's be generous 1991 "Bloody Rockers" and "Mad Rockers" are very archaic sounding jazz-rock/psych blend with free-jazz. Historically very important albums I think. "Let's be generous" brings to mind newer albums by John Zorn. On avant-garde free jazz "Bold Music" from 1969 there is a little bit of jazz-rock (tracks: "My Friend the Jogi", "Vampires Castle", "Depression and Illusion") but it's very difficult do listen this album to the end. Other albums like solo piano "Distances" from 1984 or "Poison" from 2006 can be good addicion for people liking prog. He made many more albums, but I think these are most important from progressive point of view. The same albums as on Youtube "Topic" are also on Spotify (but I'll stay with YT)
