People only play the second half of Shine On... a fifth the amount of the first half? That seems a bit odd.

I was dumbfounded.. I guess they can't listen to anything more than 5 mins long.. I mean, if you listen to the first 5 parts, wouldn't they wanna hear the rest? :)

Interesting data, it shows how much people are song oriented. I prefer to listen to the whole album, which it's been a tendency for a lot of prog lovers that I know. I wonder how much of this is true around the world.

The first part of Shine On is what gets played on the radio; not really surprising that it has so many listens. In my opinion, it's a fairly "complete" track by itself; it doesn't sound like you've only listened to half a song.

Looked at their website....Floyd was the only true prog rock band even in the list of best selling artists so not much info on prog there....but Dark Side has always been more popular that Wish and Animals...no surprises there at all.
And since it is basically a site about 'popular' artists it's  no surprise that shorter tracks will be listened to more.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

People love Dark Side. Bland, safe music will always be popular.

Dark Side of the Moon is the most played album or tracks played on this album by any prog artist on the radio...

Genesis is another band that gets plenty of air time on the radio.
