We've determined from our previous lyric poll that Peter Gabriel > Peter Hammill > Peter Sinfield...but what about prog lyricists NOT named Peter?
Choose your favorites...multiple votes encouraged and I have a feeling the "Other" option will be heavily used

Lennon-McCartney is probably the greatest songwriting team to ever live, but I'll give Jon Anderson some love, as Yes was one of the bands that really got me into prog.

I did my usual check-the-Peart-box,
... but then though I wish I could take that back. I really should have given some more thought to Ian Anderson before pulling the trigger.

In this era of Trump and corrupt capitalism, who can deny Robert Wyatt this title?

I like Roger Waters lyrics, but his themes are repetitive (war, politics). Because of that, I choose Neil Peart.

I grab the chance to give Neil Peart the lead.
Waters, Anderson (Ian, not Jon!), Bowie and Fish are also OK.

I choose Ian Anderson, Neil Peart, Roger Waters, Zappa, Bowie, Reid, Lennon & Barrett, because theirs lyrics I have paid attention and also liked (I have paid attention also for example Jon Anderson´s lyrics but mostly just can´t understand them at all, athough they of course have quite positive vibe). Also chose other who is Jukka Gustavson.

I don't care for lyrics much but Robert Wyatt has written a number of songs where I can really appreciate them.

Some responses indicate that many of you didn't know you can vote more than once on this poll. Vote for all of those that you like, one at a time. There are just too many great lyricists that you can't just pick one. |
