In my opinion, Nothing At All is the most beautiful song by Gentle Giant.

I like that. Or, and this isn't nearly as good as that, you have someone ask you why you like Gentle Giant's debut and you answer "Why Not?" (a favourite song of mine). Edited by Logan - August 10 2018 at 21:16 |

Nothing at all. Actually, it would be fun to ask a question as: What is it that you like from Gentle Giant?, and have that song as an answer.

What would really make it interesting is if you play the song backwards you realise that you're listening to a speech from Count Dracula as orated by Christopher Lee such as "I am Dracula and I welcome you to my house. I must apologize for not being here to greet you personally, but I trust you've found everything you needed." That said, the reverse reverb processing on the vocals is a clever touch which relates nicely to the title as well as giving it a certain atmosphere. |

There's not nothing at all worth mentioning in terms of my liking one over the other. "Nothing At All" most certainly for me. Had you listed "Why Not?", then I think my vote might be different, and why not? Anyway, love the debut.
True, draculA does have more bite to it than lla ta gnihtoN. Edited by Logan - August 09 2018 at 12:28 |

To everyone who hasn't read "Alucard" backwards yet: The result is more interesting than with "Nothing at all".

I feel these two songs from Gentle Giants debut is never really repeated on in previous albums, these aee imo standalone songs of the debute whom shows ways of experimenting within classical music abd jazz music with flirtingb with an avnt garde nature. Still also very contrasting songs, one violent and risky the other breezy, chilly and sensual.
