So apparently by it's late, begrudging acknowledgement of Yes and Rush, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame feels they have allowed enough token prog acts. The new list is out. Still no Tull or ELP, let alone Crimson. The nominees for 2018: * The Cure
* Def Leppard * Devo * Janet Jackson * John Prine * Kraftwerk * LL Cool J * MC5 * Radiohead * Rage Against the Machine * Roxy Music * Rufus featuring Chaka Khan * Stevie Nicks * The Zombies * Todd Rundgren |

What a silly list of inductees.........though I do like The Zombies and Roxy....and of course John Prine; maybe he'll write a funny song about the RRHOF.

The "Rock and Roll Hall of Shame" is just that, a shame for rock music.

interesting mix. Some of them seem bizarre. John Prine? I mean, really, talk about an American bias

Because they've had 2 top 100 singles and 2 top 100 albums in the USA.

I'm honestly quite surprised that Jethro Tull did not make the list. However, I fail to be convinced that there is some sort of anti prog conspiracy going on.

Who would want to be in it anyway? Not a signal of accomplishment just an indication of sheeples indoctrination by big brother...

I once saw a guy wearing a R&R HOF t shirt at a Jon Anderson concert. This was around 2011 and obviously several years before Yes were inducted. I felt like saying something to him like "really?" Or "wow" or " you've got to be kidding." Instead I simply just asked if him if it was a HOF t shirt and he said it was. I wonder if the irony was lost on him. To this day I still understand his reasoning behind wearing that shirt unless it was to stir trouble. Or maybe he just had no clue. Regardless, the R&R HOF obviously is just an elitist organization that is really not for people who are into deeper kinds of music(rock or not).

Now that they're eligible, where's the glorious trinity of SUFFOCATION, IMMOLATION and INCANTATION??
Seriously, what does it really matter who gets in...when I checked it out a few years ago (not much else to do during a Cleveland stopover besides get drunk) I saw a Katy Perry dress on display. That's rock & roll for ya.

Yeah who is interested in Katy Perry's dress? Unless you are the one who is taking it off!

The public can vote but ......what's the criteria for even getting placed on the nomination list and who actually does that...?
Over the years many of the nominees aren't even really 'rock n roll.'
