Zappa is a genius in some ways, but Horslips both invented Celtic Rock and are probably the best live band I've ever seen (almost 20 times) and brought an entire nation screaming and kicking into the modern age and out of the showband era.
And The Tain and The Book of Invasions are two of the very best albums ever recorded, vastly better than anything Zappa did.
So a very easy vote indeed for me. I bet most people voting have never even heard Horslips.

This is a hard one for me. For very different reasons, I really love both. I’m quite sure the mighty Frank Zappa is going to win, so I’lol give my vote to Horslips, to give then some love.

Zappa

Feels a bit like France v Iran, where I know most of the French players, but couldn't name a single Iranian player (Horslips?)

Given a choice of one or the other, I will always choose Horslips over Zappa. The Book of Invasions is one of the best albums ever and The Tain isn't far behind.

Still a world record, but I can't imagine how it could have been. It's more than one goal every 3 minutes. Probably Zappa will score even more here.

Not really like Tull, though Jim Lockhart's flute work is often compared to Ian Anderson's. There's much more of a traditional folk feel about Horslips, and they use fiddles, mandolins, concertinas and Uillean pipes a lot in the early albums. They also sing some songs in Gaelic and even Manx.

This is their best known song, off The Tain.
