«Shalash band» is a duo of keyboardist Dmitry Karavaev and drummer Maxim Smirnov, playing instrumental symphonic progressive rock.

Despite the minimal line-up, the band plays on the stage “enchanting symphonic progressive rock” with the sound and drive of full format band.

The band was formed in Russia (Moscow) in 2016 and released its debut album «Shalash» («Шалаш») in 2018. The album was presented at the stages of Moscow and Saint Petersburg and got positive feedback from musical experts and listeners.

I saw this band live at Prog Festivel ("Babooinumfest") in this month. The live performance was incredible as well as their debut album. This band deserves to have the page at Prog Archives as a symphonic prog band in the traditions of ELP and Triumvirat! But Shalash Band combines these traditions with elements of the Russian classical music and a sence of humor!

Hi felonafan, yes, it was wonderful concert in such unusual place (building of old, not working boiler) with incredible acoustic :)) and warm atmosphere! Thank you for the support during that concert and for your support here at progarchieves!
