So now we start the second round with the winners & runners up from round 1. There are 6 groups with the winners and top 2 runners up going to the quarter finals. No winner and runner up from the first round are in the same group in the second round.
Pick your favorite.

Easily in the Belgium camp in this one, with a preference for Aranis

I love The Residents, but there is no way Zappa doesn't get the nod.

this is near impossible to choose , though I can eliminate The
Residents relatively quickly, partly because them - and Zappa as well -
have got tons of stuff I don't appreciate. In terms of amount (%-age) of the respective oeuvre/stuff that I love, I'd say in the following order: Present (I've got everything by them and there is no weak album. Aranis (I also have everything by them, but their last three albums I'm not that keen on Zappa (I've got six/seven albums on the 50+ releases, but there is loads of them I will never own and last The Residents (only have two albums and they never get a spin |

Residents by far - faultless discography from debut up to 1983 (then started to suck)

This is a tough one for me. I love Present, Aranis, the Residents and a fair amount of Frank Zappa. Present is the most consistently good for me, but while I have all of the Present albums, I rarely return to albums other than Triskaïdékaphobie and Le Poison Qui Rend Fou. With Aranis, I most return to the first two albums (those two have the lowest average ratings in PA). With The Residents, my current favourite is Not Available (Eskimo is the album that got me to appreciate the band originally).
By the way, Frank Zappa least fits this category (RIO and Avant) of these choices for me. To me he better suits Eclectic Prog for his blends of Jazz-Rock, Art Rock and Experimental Rock, but that's by-the-by, but then I think that a lot in the RIO/Avant Prog category could also be classified as Eclectic Prog. Belgium is as good at RIO as they are at chocolate and fries. OK you can say that both Aranis and Present have taken quite a bit from the Art Zoyd/UZ school but both are awesome. Aranis deserves far more than one vote so mine goes there. (No disrespect to Zappa and the Residents though.)

In the end I voted for Present. I'm in a Le Poison Qui Rend Fou mood.
