I listened to lifeline a while ago, haven't heard the other one.
No vote for now, I need to listen to these albums properly first.

Lifeline is the only Neal Morse progressive studio album that I don't own. I've heard most of the tracks and it doesn't strike me as one of his best. Similitude, however, is up there with my favourites Sola Scriptura and ?

Came to this poll excited to see someone giving attention to the great John Young-led all-star project, LIFESIGNS. Ooops! Embarrassed

Although most fans turn their collective noses at the overt religiosity of Lifeline, I for one absolutely adore it. The title track is perfect and the epic "So Many Roads" might be my favorite long-form song in Neal's canon. The shorter, poppier tunes are really well-written as well. But Similitude is a monster!!! Straight up beast.

I'd vote for Similitude too, it's just an amazing piece of work, however...

I tend to think that Lifeline is quite underrated. So Many Roads is one of Neal's better epics in my opinion, and whilst Lifeline does contain quite a few preachy, almost "normal" songs, they are still enjoyable to listen to.

For me, the issue with Lifeline is the track order - it just seems odd to me to have another short song (Fly High) follow on after So Many Roads, it really feels like it was just tacked on at the last minute.

The Similitude of a Dream is probably better than Lifeline, but IMO far from Morse's best album One.
I prefer One over any other album from him.

It is the only one I don't own either and I love the guy. The reviews were just not there for me to pull the trigger but who knows, maybe one day.

Just excited that he is coming to Lawrence, Kansas March 1. I live in the prog desert that is Nebraska and a 3 hour drive down to see a real live prog concert has got me overjoyed.Big smile
