Another record that I find impossible to choose a song above the rest.

This one is very difficult, between Dancing with the Moonlit Knight, Firth of Fifth, and Cinema Show. I guess I can leave out Cinema Show first. Now, some time ago, it would have been Firth of Fifth without a doubt, but I have been liking Dancing with the Moonlit Knight a lot more lately, specially live.

agree 100%---Firth does have the greatest prog guitar solo ever---and Cinema has one of the greatest keyboard solos ever---and Dancing is amazing--especially the various guitar flourishes ---but voted Firth.

Cinema Show and Firth of Fifth both probably make my top ten Genesis songs but I chose Firth of Fifth.

When I only have time to show someone one track from this album, it's Firth of Fifth.

Hard to decide which I like best on the "album I'd have when stranded" - love them all.
But if I had to choose, it would be Firth of Fifth. Hackett's guitar solo!!!!
Welcome to the middle of the film.

Close between Firth of Fifth & Cinema Show. Voted for Cinema Show since it was falling behind in the poll but I could have gone either way

Firth of Fifth, and then the first song, Dancing: two absolute masterpieces,

but...very far the others.

Good is Cinema, good is I Know What I Like...

In my opinion,
Wonderful beginning, I guess the most brilliant beginning in the Genesis histoy:
-Dancing
-I Know What I Like
-Firth of Fifth...

Great, very highest quality, at this level the album is on the top of the ranking of the best prog album ever...
But .... Now arrive the bad notes.

The other songs... hmmm....

More Fool Me is a free fall... and then, you listen to side B and... Epping Forest is another free fall. And it is very long....

Hackett's song is ok but not sensational... Cinema Show has got a very good beginning but then...

In my opinion, side B is not really great.

Firth I guess is the better song of Genesis ever.

Instead, for me, the keyboard solo of Cinema Show is the weakest part of the song. I prefer listening to Collins' work on drums.

Dancing With the Moonlit Knight is fantastic - but I'll never understand how or why this album is an alltime favorite for so many - and like "best ever progalbum". Fifth of Fifth is pretty great as well and I guess I can understand Cinema Show's appeal (while no personal favorite - I prefer the Lawnmover-song)... but then?

It took me a while for Cinema Show to sink in, because indeed I found it rather weak at first (including the keyboard solo). But live versions are better, and I came to love it because of them. Mostly, the Live at the Rainbow version with the classic line-up, but I like the one on Seconds Out a lot too (actually, I think Collins voice fits the song much better, but the guitars are a bit too low on the mix and that doesn't help, nor the lack of the flute on that short passage).
