Supertramp no contest.... I can name 5 Supertramp albums (COTC, Debut, Crisis Quietest Moment and Brother) that I prefer before getting to Grand Illusion ....
I'm not even sure Po8 or Equinox would rank in the top 10 if I include the near-Supertramp album Eye of The Storm (given the BIA & Paris would easily enter the top 10 lower rungs)

Styx by sheer amount of great music, from early ears till 2017's The Mission. Supertramp have some great pop songs with perfect hooks, but their music in general is just less exciting.

Supertramp.
Just more consistent and enjoyable, IMHO.
Styx got too much into weepy ballads for my liking.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

Never much of a fan of either; found them both pretty boring, but but there are a few Supertramp melodies that stick in my head, and Styx always seemed a bit cheesy on top of being boring.

Both bands have their ups and their downs, but I cannot deny that I have more history with Supertramp. Moreover, Styx sounds a bit too all-American for my east-of-Atlanic ears.

A helping of Supertramp, thank you very much...
He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

I've never liked Styx. So there's that.

to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

Both had albums that I like, and albums that I don't care much for, so it's almost a tie, but I'm a little more fond of Supertramp.

Styx, because their lady is not a 'tramp.

Plus, I (also) cannot stomach Hodgson's voice.
