For me it's Supertramp. Styx was good, but only really had one real progressive album and that was The Grand Illusion.

Definitely Styx just because of Roger Hodgson's voice.

Supertramp easily--I don't get Styx at all---american "prog" sucks.

I like Grand Illusion, but Supertramp has far more high quality music.

Styx has a much better catalog, this has nothing to do with being prog or not. I only listen to one Supertramp album.

Styx, because their lady is not a 'tramp. Plus, I (also) cannot stomach Hodgson's voice.

Both had albums that I like, and albums that I don't care much for, so it's almost a tie, but I'm a little more fond of Supertramp.

I've never liked Styx. So there's that.

A helping of Supertramp, thank you very much...

He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

Both bands have their ups and their downs, but I cannot deny that I have more history with Supertramp. Moreover, Styx sounds a bit too all-American for my east-of-Atlanic ears.

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |
