I've just clicked (to pun) I'm sure you are referring to  sound of manual hedge clippers (as in -Billy- Shears),  a very essential English gardening tool!

There's supposed to be some morse code in Strawberry Fields Forever - I'll have to look it up as I can't remember what it says. I know it's not really prog, but it's not far off.

So what does the morse code in "Golf girl" say?

"Spirit of the Age - as well as opening with some morse code
also contains a radio call signal (the snatch of music at the beginning) I
think it may be radio Albania but hopefully someone will know better
than me."
Very interesting....

Morse code is the intro to the stunning Barclay James Harvest's song Science Fiction: Nova Lepidoptera, from the 1978 album XII! The message is: U.F.O.

quite original to use radio albania as a song intro

I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

Yeah, what does the morse code in "Golf Girl" translate to? I can't even find anything that might be mistaken for morse code in that song.

And what about "Watcher of the Skies?" What does that mean?

Slightly off topic but what a good name for an album by Steve Morse. 'Morse Code'.

In the commentary for MP's Drums of Thought DVD, he mentioned a special "hidden nugget" that could be found somewhere in the studio version of ITNOG.

Over many weeks, many people on MP's forum were searching all through ITNOG to find out what the nugget was. Mike kept an eye on the discussions and let people know when they were wrong, and dozens of theories were proven false by MP.

One thing that he did say was that somebody had touched on what the nugget was in one of the various threads, but noone had expanded on it.

Eventually, Nick Bogovich (Bogie on the forum) discovered what the nugget actually was: the words "eat my ass and balls" spelled out in morse code from 5:51 to 6:07 of the song.

My free prog group (Ordine Geometrico Demonstrata) used Morse for a drum pattern in our title track (also the second song we recorded).
If you're interested, you can check it out here: http://www.ogd-project.org/02.OGD.mp3

Are you sure it's at that point in the song? I checked out the rhythm using http://morsecode.scphillips.com/jtranslator.html, and that rhythm just doesn't seem to be there.

I was just thinking about this. Maybe it should be his new band's name - The Morse Code.
