Yeah, I think it's just cause it sounds like Morse. I tried to find a meaning for it yesterday, and the best I could get was VOKUU.

Anybody: is the "morse code bassline" in Watchers actually morse code, or is it just referred to that because it sounds like morse?

Ah, I hear it now. I thought it was the keyboards that were doing it, but there's that little clicking in the background I hadn't paid attention to.

in "Spirit of the Age" the morse code simply is "SOS" repeated again and again ("dadada dahdahdah dadada")

My free prog group (Ordine Geometrico Demonstrata) used Morse for a drum pattern in our title track (also the second song we recorded).

Yeah, what does the morse code in "Golf Girl" translate to? I can't even find anything that might be mistaken for morse code in that song.

And what about "Watcher of the Skies?" What does that mean?

There's a song on Marillion's Brave,can't remember wich one.It's 11 mins long.Keysman Kelley does those neat little sounds during an atmospheric passage.You can hear it goes ''beep beep beeeep!'' and so on...
