Foxtrot, but I had to give this some consideration. Three killer albums.

Dark Side of the Moon these days. Not a single step wrong on that one and an overall concept that is second to none. I like the other two as well though.

Well, not 'Foxtrot'. Though it's a terrific album, I don't think the long song 'Supper's ready' is in the same league as long song 'Close to the Edge'. I listened to both recently after a long lay off, and was surprised how much SR seemed largely like a bunch of disassociated passages thrown together (though some of those passages are magnificent in isolation). But CTTE seems able to inspire new levels of awe in me every time I go a while without hearing it. I think it belongs up there with the highest achievements of any form of music you want to nominate. But when it comes down to Edge vs Dark Side, I abstain. If I can give an award to each, I'd say Dark Side perhaps hangs together better as a suite of songs, or as a concept album or whatever collective term you prefer - but Edge wins for sheer transcendent inspiration, composition and musicianship. |

CTTE> DSOTM > Foxtrot
All great albums, I'm a little surprised CTTE is in last place right now but it's still early.

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

Foxtrot, because of Supper's Ready. CTTE and DSOTM are also fantastic albums.
