I've seen a previous thread questioning whether or not The Pink Fairies should be added to Prog Archives.

I don't see how this can be in question...

I appreciate all the arguments made that they are not prog. However...

  • They have extended jams/pieces
  • They are HEAVILY psychedelic
  • They have songs/art with a strong fantasy element
  • They have clear moments of space rock

In my opinion, they are much more deserving of being included on this site than so many bands that already have been included.

I really don't see how this can be in question, going by the method in Prog Archives past inclusions.

Anyone agree?

Utterly fantastic spacey jam band with rock and punk tendencies but no not prog.

they have a new album at start, Resident Reptiles (2018), which warrants a new evaluation ...
.. well, there is nothing new here concerning prog standards imho, straightforward garage rock songs with psychedelic flair

I always assumed this band was in the catalogue, but alas, here is this thread. The first LP, Neverneverland, is classical heavy prog, highly recommended to the fans of that genre.

At least an entry in the Cross-over category would be warranted.

Just in case it's not obvious, psychedelic does not equal progressive. These are two different styles of music that once they cross paths end up on sites like this. BTW Pink Fairies are on MMA as proto-metal
