Two homages made to the Beatles by King Crimson. So cleverly done most people wont not it, but Cat Food and Ladies of the Road is homage or variations of Come Together bass line "in a very cool way" imo.

Two very different song, with different themes and moods. The live version of Cat Food is quite excellent, and just for that, it gets my vote.

I like both.

the biggest homage to the Beatles by King Crimson is of course "Happy Family"

Like both - tough choice. Cat Food, however, since the first time I heard it - probably 1977ish - on a borrowed copy of The Young Persons' Guide to King Crimson has always been a sentimental favorite...
He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

They are both KC, so they are both great, but the winner is ... Cat Food .... Again?

Love both equally I guess, but I'll vote for the Ladies as I've been listening to Islands a lot recently.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Both songs are fine. I vote for Ladies of the Road because I find Greg Lake's vocals in Cat Food slightly annoying somehow (strange since I'm usually fine with his vocals). On the other hand, there is some magic at hand when Lake shuts up and Keith Tippett's piano joins in.

Dinosaur is another KC song that would fit in this poll.

No you're not. I think Ladies of the Road is a bit too much of a mess of a Beatles-pastiche and never been a favorite of mine. Cat Food got some of Come Together's attitude (in vocal delivery) and I easily recognise where they got the inspiration for that bassline - but stands solid on its own two feet and has the feel of an actual tune. As its 70's King Crimson I still like them both, but I choose the latter if I have to.

I prefer Islands over In the Wake of Poseidon.

However it's gotta be Cat Food.

Even though it lifts the chorus melody from Mary Poppins Chim Chim Cheree, I voted for Ladies of the Road as it's always welcome to hear a Prog band who don't take themselves or their audience too seriously

Unless you specifically read that somewhere and can say for absolute certain that is the case I am going to have to respectfully disagree. The only Beatles homage that I know of that KC did was "happy family." The Beatles were barely even broken up when "cat food" was written and recorded so that one in particular seems unlikely to me.
