after 12 years and 2 very average records, is the next Radiohead will be their best since the fabulous In Rainbows?

let's add The Division Bell too. A bit stronger and more consistent than Momentary but both damn fine records.

For me it would be: Deep Purple- Perfect Strangers Yes-90125 Black Sabbath - 13 King Crimson- Discipline I don't really consider LDV a comeback album though since the band didn't really break up. If anything by the Moodies was a comeback album it would have been Octave. LDV is a great album though. Come to think of it the only album on your list I might consider a comeback album is the Kansas one because it reunites their old lineup. For me a comeback album means the band broke up or was away for a while(not just not recording but not playing live either). So the Moodies could count but like I said it would have been for Octave.

Yes - Going For The One, reunion of the hippie with the iron fist and the caped crusader, worked out very well!

Van Der Graaf Generator - Present (2005)
Deftones - Diamond Eyes (2010) Killing Joke - s/t (2003) Portishead - Third (2008) Peter Gabriel - Up (2002) At the Drive-In - Interalia (2017) - loved it, despite almost universal backlash If we talk latter-day highlights (sometimes overshadowing earlier ones), then I gotta mention David Bowie - Blackstar (2016), IQ - Dark Matter (2004), Camel - Rajaz (1999), Iron Maiden - Brave New World (2000), Paradise Lost - The Plague Within (2015), Fates Warning - Disconnected (2000), Coil - The Ape of Naples (2005) and Swans - To Be Kind (2014) |

Many albums can get into this category. I would add PFM's "Ulisse" to the onces already mention.

David Bowie - 1. Outside. A strangely overlooked album, but I'd still say it's one of his most interesting. And it came after a long dead water period.
