while on the subject of folk/classical tinged groups, how about your 8 favorite BJH songs.  Don't worry about length, etc...Only 1 track per album.  Go!

I'm surprised how few posts there are on this thread. I'll have my own Barclay James Harvest video album coming up soon, but in the meantime, here's a classic concert from 2004 for all BJH fans to enjoy. Smile

Decent band....I recall this guy in college who had their first 4 or 5 lp's.....I never bought any.
About 20 years ago I started recollecting more vinyl..mostly prog and obscure things and saw BJH lp's in record bins..so I bought the first 8 lp's used...nice easy mellow prog at times reminding  me of both Moody Blues (of course) and Strawbs .
Another band I haven't played in quite a while.....should I start at the beginning?
;)

I'd recommend any of their three early Live albums as a starting point - either "Live" (1974), "Live Tapes" (1978), or "Concert for the People (Berlin)" (1982). There's also a couple of BJH's studio albums I'd thoroughly recommend that are both five-star albums for me - "Once Again" (1971) and "Barclay James Harvest and Other Short Stories" (1971).
