Two of our highest rated albums. I'm going to give the first vote to Foxtrot. Easily my favorite album ever made. Thick as a Brick is really good, but not on the same level imo, I know many will disagree so this should be interesting.

Foxtrot is my second overall favourite, Thick as a Brick lurks somewhere just below the bottom of my top 10.

Gosh, that's a toughie! The much revered 'Brick because of its concept album status. That might change tomorrow.

It would be easy to say thick as a brick but I'm not so sure. Foxtrot is great although most of side one(except for Watcher)is rather weak imo. However, SR makes it so both albums are equal but since there is no both equally option I won't vote.

Fox is the best of the Gabriel era but Supper is a bit daggy and holds the album back. Thick wins for sure

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Both fantastic I give a clear edge to Foxtrot. Mind you, I would vote for Aqualung over Foxtrot if that were the choice, though.

Foxtrot certainly. Side One is underrated. Time Table is a very poignant song , one of the best actual 'songs' of the era. I absolutely love Can Utility.. just perfect organ playing from Banks. Not a fan of Mellotron but they nailed it with Watcher Of The Skies. I regard this as better than the overrated SEBTP (imo) TAAB - I can't think of anything bad about it but the plain truth is that I don't like Tull as much as Genesis. Maybe that will change eventually but for now..

Foxtrot by a long long way.
TAAB is fun, but I'm not a fan of the Tull sound and formula. Foxtrot is very high in my top 10 albums of all time. |
