Probably Genesis' worst two albums.  I like neither.

I love Genesis' first album, but I found their last album disappointing and it didn't even sound like Genesis to me, so it was an easy choice for me in this poll. Smile

Without doubt "From Genesis to Revelation"

Without any comparison to what Genesis was about to become, I think it is a nice collection of songs.

Ugh.

I guess their debut, but it's really a hard pass for both.

That's why I have neither as an option. Wink

I actually like their first album. I mean they don't really have any bad albums to me(it's Genesis), but the last two studio albums are clearly the weakest two imo.

Calling All Stations. Neither of those two albums should be released under the Genesis moniker (in fact FG2R was not), but CAS was the better album. Not quite Genesis: the vocals sound too unfamiliar for a long time Genesis fan. Nevertheless Ray is a good singer.

First album is okay for its time and the inexperience of the band. Last album is terrible for its time and the experience of the band.

What name was it released under then?

"From Genesis To Revelation" was released under the band name "Revelation" in the United States to prevent confusion, because there was already a band with the name "Genesis" in the USA at the time.

Ray Wilson has an amazing voice. They should have made another album with him, and should have returned to Prog. The genre was on the upswing at the time, and I think it would have led to greater things.

Yes, I know about that other Genesis band. I listened to some of their album on youtube. It's actually more progressive than the FGTR album. Wink It might sound like regular psych to most peopole but long songs with long instrumental jams.

It actually has a bit of a neo prog vibe to it imo.

As they could not know that was to happen later, what you are saying is that they should have changes name from Genesis to Trespass ? in 1970 Wink
