I think this is the single most difficult poll i've ever made. In my head, I could justify voting for any of these. Gonna sit on it for a little bit and reply later when I decide to vote.

I agree with you that this is a super tough poll!

I went for The Undercover Man + Scorched Earth just because I love all of the tracks on Godbluff and both of these tracks are incredible.

Now, if you had instead given me Man Erg + A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers and Still Life + La Rossa I would have been seriously struggling!
Songs cast a light on you

Interesting, I think I agree. Though Godbluff and Still Life often switch places as my favorite, but they're all 5 stars in my book.

Although it would be "Scorched Earth" over any of the single tracks mentioned, I vote for "Lemmings+Man-Erg" in this poll. That's half of the most perfect album ever.

It's worth remarking that both "Lemmings + Man-Erg" and "The Undercover Man + Scorched Earth" are half their respective albums, whereas "Killer + House With No Door" and "Pilgrims + Still Life" are not and omit very substantial tracks from their respective albums.

The Undercover option works best as a duo.
I'm guitarist and songwriter for the prog-related band Mother Bass. Find us at http://www.motherbass.com. I also enter stages throughout the Netherlands performing my poetry.

Very difficult choices..

I'll go with Lemmings & Man-Erg

Totally agree with your observation that any choice is justified. But I can't pick a duo that doesn't include Lemmings, if only because that riff has been stuck in my head for forty years...

I'm looking forward to working my way alphabetically towards listening to my two new VDGG albums for the first time. I'm still on "B" for Barclay James Harvest at the moment in my prog collection, so I still have quite a way to go. Smile

Lemmings and Man-Erg is their best 1-2 punch.
Scorched Earth paired with Arrow or The Sleepwalkers could win it though
