Interesting idea I had, in each case I greatly prefer one album over the other. Gonna sit on this one for a bit before I vote.

Genesis, just a hair ahead of Yes.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

I just bought the two Van Der Graaf Generator albums in the poll last week, although I haven't listened to them yet. I always listen to my albums in alphabetical order by genre, and I'm still on "A" for Argent at the moment. Smile

Trick of the Tail = 4* / Wind & Wuthering = 4*

Starless & Bible Black = 4* / Red = 5*

The Yes Album = 5* / Fragile = 5*

Least We Can Do Is Wave = 4* / H to He = 4*

That's my assessment, so my vote goes to Yes on this one.

Ok, I know how i'll decided my vote

1: Red (8)
2: Trick (7)
3: H to He (6)
4: The Yes Album (5)
5: Least We Can Do is Wave(4)
6: Wind and Wuthering (3)
7: Starless and Bible Black (2)
8: Fragile (1)

King Crimson: 8 points
Genesis: 10 Points
VDGG: 10 Points
Yes: 5 Points

Since Trick is my favorite between the Four Genesis and VDGG i'm going with Genesis

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!!!!!
Genesis is a veeeeerrrrrrryyyyyy distant second.

Between Yes and Genesis, I would add:

Moody Blues - On the Threshold of a Dream / To Our Children's Children (1969)
Kansas - Song For America / Masque (1975)
Rush - Fly By Night / Caress of Steel (1975)

I considered the later two, but figured they wouldn't stand a chance. If it were Kansas S/t and Song for America I might be scratching my head myself as those are both very strong releases!

King Crimson comes first with Yes as a close second.

The Yes Album/Fragile - Yes.

VDGG over KC
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
