Is it just me?

The Progarchives website seems to be severely broken...

Almost each click on a link results in a CAPTCHA request. Even in the forum.

Also, the cover art images don't load at all.

WHAT IS GOING ON? It is unbearable!! Please repair my favorite website!!

P.S. I was about to give up, but I discovered that when I add "https://" in front of any page address, it seems to work better... What does it mean?

Ehm... WHAT?!

About 10 minutes after my previous post, everything seems to work fine!

Strange coincidence, really! Confused

I haven't been CAP-CHA-CHA-TCHAed for a few days, but it was terrible for me before. When the problems first arose for many, I had no issues with it. I have found cleaning my cache can help, and have found that Opera seems to work better for me than Chrome or Safari often.

I wish this were set up as https for a more secure experience. Also seemed to find adding the s to http might help with Captcha, but don't know.

"Terrible" is the word ! Luckily, it seems to be fixed by now.

But I was wondering: is there someone we can contact when these things happen? An admin email address?

Because there were so much bugs and CAPTCHA requests that it was very difficult to navigate the website or to post on the forum...

Just M@x, who owns and maintains this site, and he can be hard to reach. I know he has been aware of the Captcha problem. I think some site maintenance might have been done very recently.

Hi,

I think that the idea behind Captcha is to make sure that you are not just a bot sending out messages, and specially "spoofed" messages which I wonder/think can happen when one posts a lot within a small amount of time ... and one of the reasons why I try to be more detailed instead of one word replies that say nothing about the thread or its content.

https ... usually means a protected site with serious security ... and there might be an issue with Captcha not liking stuff from secure websites ... which can/could (more than likely) have some sort of protection on their content, which might not be advisable to re-post ... which is (in itself) ridiculous and stupid, because the Internet is about getting everyone to know something or other ... not to hide anything!

But I did not design that idea. Geeks will forever be geeks and imagine their security!

This is as much as I know and can not really say a whole lot more.

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
