This is probably as close as you'll ever get to an american supper's ready(or even lady fantasy). A real treat for those who like symph prog but never heard it before. Enjoy.

This reminds me of the GDR band Lift, internationally probably also pretty obscure. |

Mmh. Here it works. There's at least one other video with the original version, but that one doesn't work on my computer when I include it here, also it has a much worse sound quality. There are also a few live versions from the 2010s, apparently the band is touring again. If you're interested maybe search for "Lift Meeresfahrt" on youtube; I'm reluctant to replace a video that seems to work on this computer at least.

Obscure symph prog(not neo) from the 80's doesn't get much better than this. Interestingly, this is what I thought 70's Italian prog sounded like(before I knew any better although to some degree I might not have been too far off).

Hi, Ohhh heck ... we can create a new genre, they did that all the time anyway to support their pet hamsters! We can call it ... let's see ... CUBISTIC PROGRESSIVE ROCK ... for its inventiveness and fun lyrics! That should do the trick! A total worth while listen and very enjoyable and the lyrics are great ... you remember those Japanese flicks with the idiot turds in the front seat making fun of it ... this song fits it perfectly! We'll have to tell Buckethead the Prez's favorite words ... "You're Fired!"

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Good challenge. What with the current lockdown, I've been revisiting long untroubled bits of my record collection. Anyone remember samplers? - Specifically 'Bombers' from Polydor, 1970. 'Big Nick' by Lifetime is good. Who they?

Incidentally it's a cover of a tune by John Coltrane, which he wrote as a tribute to fellow sax player "Big Nick" Nicholas.

This should be easy. 95% of them are. Just ask Psychedelic Paul.

It's a whole album, but anyway. Taurus was a Danish band from the 70's who released this (their only) album in 1978. If I remember correctly it was produced by Finn Olafsson from Ache. Taurus later regrouped as the pop/rock band Tv-2, but that's another story. For some reason there is no stereo pan in the video clip. |
