I left off Moving Pictures because it would probably win way too easily. Same thing with Permanent Waves which is barely an 80's album anyway.

That was the first Rush album I ever bought(on cassette tape)although it's not necessarily my favorite. I think most of these are more or less equal in quality which is why I chose them.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

Signals will win easily......but you really need to listen and pay attention to Power Windows. A much more mature record than Signals with songs like Grand Designs, Marathon, Territories and Mystic Rhythms. Easily one of their best offerings.

If it wins it's because it's the most proggy sounding. :P

Grace Under Pressure still clicks with me a bit more than the others, not by much though.

For me it goes
Signals Power Windows Grace Under Pressure Hold Your Fire Presto I love all of them though, being a massive Rush fan. Presto has a lot more in common with their 90s albums, but I usually enjoy it more than any of their 90s albums as it's just a bit quirkier.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Permanent Waves is a 70s album that happened to get released in early 1980. My opinion cannot be changed. Good idea leaving off Moving Pictures; it would win singlehandedly.

Signals was my favorite for a long time: best bass tone, best drum production, best (fat) synth sounds. But these days, the aggressiveness of Grace Under Pressure fits the bill, and I think it's even more consistent than Signals when it comes to fine songwriting. Every single song is a kick in the pants, and Geddy's basslines scorch like solar flares!

Signals slowly grew for me to the point where it is now my favourite Rush album of all.
