I know Michael Jackson's 1987 album is "Bad", but I've heard Weird Al's tribute album is "Even Worse" Smile

The funny thing is, that's just how I used to look in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Tongue

Michael Jackson told us all to "Beat It", but Crazy Al just wants to "Eat It" Smile

^ That was great, Cristi! Thanks for posting. I wonder If that "Word Crimes" video was aimed at anyone specific. God forbid that anyone should ever be mocked online for their use of conjugations and grammer. Wink

^^ "Smells Like Nirvana" - I love it! LOL

Al also wrote original music.

This original song was from his movie, UHF.

^The only artists that didn't approve of Al's parodies were Prince and Coolio. All other artists were flattered.

I'd be surprised if Michael Jackson approved of Weird Al's parody. Smile

Here is what Al said about Michael's response to Fat and Eat It.

“The first time around I pursued Michael Jackson about a song parody, it was a shot in the dark. We’re talking about the most popular and famous person in the known universe, and here I was, this goofy comedy songwriter. He not only returned our phone calls, but he approved it. He thought it was a funny idea.”

Not only did Michael Jackson approve the request, but he also offered Weird Al the real set from his “Badder” music video.

All artists besides Prince (Al never did Prince because he did not get permission) loved his parodies.

^ Apparently, it was Madonna herself who suggested to a friend of Weird Al's manager the possibility of him doing a "Like a Surgeon" parody of her song "Like a Virgin". Smile

It's a shame Weird Al never did a prog album.

Weird Al seems to be more into polka than prog, if his album titles are anything to go by. Smile

He did a Zappa tribute with Dweezil on guitar.

I thought you might be, because we both share the same wacky sense of humour, judging by your entertaining album reviews. Smile

A couple of oldies but goodies! More recently, White & Nerdy, Word Crimes, and Tacky are just hysterical. White and Nerdy is absolute genius with its cultural references (the bootlegged Star Wars holiday Christmas special exchange, Monty Python Holy Grail recitation, computer language references, and his desire to roll with the cool people). His delivery on that one is exceptionally good rolling around on his Segway ... with that helmet.
