This is the first edition of what could become a fun poll series, but let's see how this one turns out!

Only 2 in this for me: Abraxas and Salisbury.
I could vote either way but am going for Salisbury as it would be a shame if this magnificent album went voteless, especially in view of the recent loss of Lee Kerslake.

From the three albums I enjoy the most in that list - Yes, Gentle Giant and Black Sabbath, I choose Yes. Peter Banks era is so underappreciated, I do not understand why.

I'd go with Benefit, my favorite Tull album.
I like the Yes and Gentle Giant records too, but the best was yet to come with those bands.

The Jon Davidson era of Yes is underappreciated too, although I DO understand why.

Voted for Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi. Exceptional! Runners up include Benefit, Time and a Word, Abraxas, and A Question of Balance. It was a good year.

Random or not, this is an awesome list per my tastes. I love most of these, and various of these are particular favourites of mine by the act.
Ultimately it came down to Magma's debut, Soft Machine's Third, and VdGG's The Least..., which all rank amonst my very favourite albums. I went with the Magma. A special nod to Mwandishi, which I do love, but I tend to play the other Mwandishy trilogy albums more (Crossings and Sextant). |
