Hello everybody!
I just joined this forum, being a huge fan of music and prog rock.
I'm 28 years old and looking for your expert suggestions to explore the prog world (and not only prog).

Have fun!

Bienvenue du Canada !

Interesting fact: Emerson lake and Palmer holds the record for largest crowd size, (nearly 80,000 fans) at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium.

Vive le rock progressif !
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

I love Genesis, King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Gentle Giant if we look at the "classics". From more recent years I enjoy Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree, Tool, Mars Volta, Lazuli and IL Rumore Bianco.

Welcome!

Here are a couple of excellent, but not much discussed, bands from your homeland that may appeal:

Echolyn, VDGG, Discipline, Matthew Parmenter, Advent, Nad Sylvan, Unifaun...all worth you investigating I reckon.

Thanks everyone. I'm quite fond of old school prog from the 70s. Now I'm mostly look for active bands able to do something new. Something different that does not copy-paste from the past.

Mars Volta and IL Rumore Bianco are an example, but I'm not necessarily looking for something similar. I'm open for different influences, styles.

Jaga Jazzist are also a cool example
