It comes down to three of the six albums for me. I enjoy the first two Yes albums, but they are overshadowed by the excellent TYA (although I find it a flat recording). The Genesis debut is entirely negligible, but Trespass and Nursery Cryme are also excellent albums. So, it is two Genesis albums vs one Yes album. I have to go with Genesis this time.

I don't want to start a new thread so I figured i'd ask here. What is the best sounding version of Going For The One? I like the music but can't help but feel underwhelmed by the mix on Apple music and the OG vinyl. Is there a better sounding version out there somewhere, I find it is a little hard on the ears and a bit muddy at times

For me Fly From Here was OK, it has some very nice songs. But any combination of albums among Tormato, Big Generator, The Ladder, Open your Eyes, and Heaven & Earth would likely loose for me. |

I figure no need to start a new topic for something that is going to be a 3 word answer, god knows we already have enough yes threads around here hahaha

Tough choice due to The Yes Album and Nursery Cryme...I rarely listen to the other 4.....
went with Yes...mostly due to 'Starship Trooper' which is a killer track. ...and of the 2 lp's my favorite item.

The first three Yes records are my least favorite of the pre/golden era TBH.
Genesis easily on this one, and is probably the only situation in which you'll hear me say Genesis over Yes, especially golden eras for both!
