OMEGA founder/keyboard player Laszlo Benko died

Laszlo Benko the founder and keyboard player of the legendary Hungarian prog rock band OMEGA, formed in 1962 and active until now has passed away after a long illness with liver cancer. He was 77 years old.

Irreparable loss for rock music and for Omega fans personally. Great keyboard wizard and one of the nicest and friendliest persons I've ever met. Rest in peace, Laci. You and your music will never be forgotten.

Thats very sad news, ive always had a real soft spot for Omega, particularly the late 60's to mid 70's lps and will play some tonight in his memory RIP.

Sad news. His keyboards were always such an important part of the Omega sound. I especially cherish their album Live at the Kisstadion '79 - still one of the best live albums in my collection...
