Looks like every one is doing album polls lately so I thought this would be a good one.
(Plus we can answer the age old question, who would win in a fight, a Camel or an Octopus?)

Octopus is great but Moonmadness is greater.

Moonmadness.
Octopus is the only GG album I enjoy, but can't compare to the best of Moonmadness. |

Moonmadness may be more consistent, but the high points of Octopus outweigh Camel for me.

Very difficult choice. I love both albums. Anyway, "Moonmadness" is my favourite album of Camel and "Octopus" isn't. It's only one of my favourite albums of Gentle Giant. So, "Moonmadness" of Camel must be.

I'm much more of a Gentle Giant fan generally but in this case I think I prefer Moonmadness.

My two favorite albums by these bands. Voted Moonmadness.

Octopus. I honestly think it is one of the very best prog albums ever made. A masterpiece. Love Camel but Mirage is my personal fave.
